More than A Good Samaritan
In the poverty-stricken areas of Africa, children are a sight to behold. Your heart will be tugged with compassion when you see them and their way of living. Many people from all walks of life have contributed one way or another to these African orphanages to alleviate desolate conditions of the children there. There are many different ways to give to Africa and make a difference in the lives of some children. But you can touch their lives more if you immerse yourself in the projects set up by their benefactors.
These orphanages bring basic assistance to address the critical needs of the children who have been affected by the famine and disease there. As an institution, the are at the front line to fight against hunger and the first to respond to emergency situations. Extended assistance in the form of basic needs like food, medical expenses, and clothing are provided. But this is just a first step. The program directors of these orphanages are also looking into teaching sustainability for the residents so they can take care of themselves. One way to do this is have an entrepreneur school that they can attend and help them learn how to start and build their own businesses.
At the entrepreneur school they are taught the knowledge they need in starting a business. Skills are also tutored to provide sustenance to the venture they will be getting themselves in. With the familiarity and dexterity to be in the business, they can have an income to keep them going for their family and themselves. An entrepreneur school would be able to give them control over their lives with the things and possibilities they can learn.
Amid these projects are people who work to achieve philanthropic contributions. A team was recently put together by a successful businesswoman, trainer and MLM consultant. Theresa has been a strong figure in the direct sales and marketing business for three decades. After she found her niche and was making it big, she went to semi-retirement to reap the fruits of their hard work. And when she was taking it easy, this was when she realized she had to do more.
She wanted to make a difference to the people who are less fortunate than her. So she set out on a path where her focus was to help others accomplish something. With being on top of the game, it took her to many different places and that’s where she found another more compelling calling that touched her heart. African orphanages became one of her many projects to provide for the destitute. And with the faith, she moves forward to touch more lives.
